Farragut Town Hall Exhibit

The Knoxville Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America will hold an exhibit of over 250 needlework pieces at the Farragut Town Hall from Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20.

The needlework will be beaded work, canvas, counted stitch, surface embroidery and much more. The exhibit is free and open to the public. We will be highlighting our most recent Master Craftsman, Lois Threlkeld. (See the attached articles about the program.) Another member, Mary Busey earned her Master Craftsman certificate in Counted Thread in the early 1980s and in 1988 passed the first two steps for the Crewel Master Craftsman program. A few complications entered her life. In 2007 she began pulling out some unfinished projects and in 2008 she was awarded the Crewel Master Craftsman and will be presented her rose bud at the Pittsburgh National Seminar in October 2009.

The chapter is proud of both Lois and Mary and will display the needlework that earned them the certification.
