Special Interest Groups

The Knoxville EGA Chapter hosts 11 interest groups based on specialty area and/or preference for location and time of meetings. Here you can read a brief summary of each group's profile, and click on the link for more information.

• Bead Buddies (Oak Ridge)

  Focus is off-loom bead weaving and embroidery techniques. Meets each 4th Tuesday evening at First Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge for news, sharing, and learning together.

• Blount Needles (Blount County)

  Focuses on sampler embroidery techniques and stitches, with an emphasis on community. Meets each 3rd Monday evening at the Tennessee Bank in Maryville near Foothills Mall.

• Canvas (Knoxville) -

  Focuses on canvas embroidery techniques and stitches. Meets each 1st Wednesday mid-morning at Doublecross needlework shop off Papermill Road to participate in a stitch-along project selected annually. Members also show their work and discuss chapter news.

• Concord (Knoxville) -

  Focuses on a variety of general embroidery techniques. Meets each 3rd Monday morning at St. Elizabeth's Church (Kingston Pike and Smith Road) for news, show-and-tell, and group projects

• Free Style Day (Knoxville)

  Focuses on free style and general embroidery techniques. Meets each 3rd Wednesday mid-morning in various Knoxville locations. Members work on group projects, show-and-tell sharing of pieces, and learning sessions.

• Morristown (Morristown)

  Focuses on general embroidery techniques and stitches. Meets each 2nd Tuesday evening at Morristown's One More Stitch needlework store. Members work on stitching projects and discuss chapter news.

• North Knox Day (Knoxville)

  Focuses on general embroidery techniques and stitches. Meets each 2nd Monday mid-morning in a member's North Knoxville home. Members work on stitching projects and discuss chapter news.

• Oak Ridge Day (Oak Ridge)

  Focuses on general and canvas embroidery techniques and stitches. Meets each 2nd Thursday mid-morning at Oak Ridge's Art and Craft Corner store. Members work on an annual stitching project or their own individual projects, discuss chapter news, and show finished work.

• Oak Ridge Night (Oak Ridge)

  Focuses on general embroidery techniques and stitches. Meets each 3rd Tuesday evening at the Oak Ridge Civic Center. Members work on group and individual projects to learn new skills as well as participate in chapter and guild events.

• West Knox Day (Knoxville)

  Focuses on general embroidery techniques. Meets each 4th Tuesday mid-morning in various locations in West Knoxville. Members work on a variety of projects, including occasional field trips.

• Where Stitchers Count (Farragut, Tellico Village, Rarity Bay and Philadelphia TN)

  Focuses on general embroidery techniques and stitches. Meets each 2nd Monday evening in various members’ homes in Farragut, Tellico Village, Rarity Bay and Philadelphia TN to stitch individual projects, share chapter news, and learn together.
